This Privacy Policy describes how Novella (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the 奇记 mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information, including the display name you provide and an identifier supplied by Apple when you sign in.
- Content, including photographs, videos, captions, dates and other material you upload or create, together with metadata contained in the files you upload, including but not limited to capture time and geographic location.
- Usage information, including but not limited to features accessed, duration of use, and diagnostic information.
- Device and connection information, including but not limited to device model, operating system version, screen characteristics, language, time zone, and IP address.
- Notification information, being a push notification token issued by Apple that identifies the installation of the Service on your device, together with the notification environment that token belongs to.
- Waitlist information, being an email address you choose to submit on our website in order to be notified about availability. It is transmitted from your browser directly to our email service provider and is not stored on our own systems. It is used to contact you about the Service and for no other purpose.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate, maintain, provide, improve and develop the Service; to send notifications about activity in groups of which you are a member, where you have permitted notifications; to communicate with you; to maintain security and prevent abuse; to comply with legal obligations; and for any other purpose disclosed to you or permitted by applicable law.
3. How information is shared
- With other users. Content you post is visible to members of the group you post it to. If a group’s owner enables the public web view, content in that group — including content added after the view is enabled — becomes accessible to any person holding the link. The owner may disable the view, which invalidates the link.
- With service providers. We share information with vendors performing services on our behalf, including hosting, storage, delivery, notification delivery and analytics. Notifications are delivered through Apple, which receives the token identifying your device and the content of the notification.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information where we believe it is required by law, legal process or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate suspected fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes, including to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Information may persist in backups or archives for a period after deletion.
5. Your choices
You may delete content you have posted, leave a group, or delete your account from within the Service. You may turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. Deleting your account removes your account information. Content you posted in groups you do not own may remain, without attribution.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfer
Information is processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including within the European Economic Area. By using the Service you consent to such transfer.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it. Photographs and videos depicting children may be uploaded by adult users; such material is Content under Section 1(b).
9. Changes
We may modify this Policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted at this address. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
